Policy Changes (Effective June 16, 2003)

Approved by Travis County Commissioners' Court on May 13, 2003*

Definition of Elderly: Changes from 55 or older to 60 years or older (current policies apply for those age55 to 60 who received services within the last 12 months).

Travis County Residency: Clients must show proof of having lived in Travis County for a minimum of 60 days prior to application for assistance, and the intent to remain in Travis County permanently.

Participation in Workforce Development: Clients requesting assistance more than once must show proof of participation in a workforce development activity such as enrollment in training, education, or employment (policy does not apply to clients who are elderly or clients with disabilities).
